Senior Analog Architect - Data Converters

This position is in the Core Analog Division (CAD) which is part of Renesas Analog & Mixed Signal product group. The CAD R&D team develops and industrializes a broad portfolio of standard products as well as a family of highly configurable mixed-signal products for a wide range of applications including but not limited to consumer communication computing data center industrial and automotive applications. The CAD team is the pioneer and dominant market leader of the highly successful GreenPAKTM family of products. This customer configurable product and platform enables customers to differentiate their products reduces BOM cost and development cost and time. The CAD team is continuously expanding our product portfolio that includes high-performance analog IPs DC-DC and FPGA.

As a Senior Data Converter Architect you will be responsible for leading the development of high-resolution data converter IP for standard products as well as integration in CADs broad portfolio of configurable products. As our data converter specialist guiding and mentoring team members is essential and one of your most important responsibilities. This is a senior technical leadership position and you will be working with design and program managers to drive NPI (New Product Introduction) execution as well as continuous efficiency and performance improvement.

Responsibilities:

• Architect and design high-performance AFE (analog frontends) and signal-chain ecosystems which include IP such as PGA (programmable gain amplifiers) precision voltage references and data converters.
• Develop high-accuracy IP with voltage accuracy on the order of 1uV.
• Develop Delta Sigma A/D converters with resolution of 24-bit or higher.
• Design Nyquist D/A converters with resolution of 18-bit or higher.
• Architect and design SAR A/D converters with resolution of 16-bit or higher.
• Guide and mentor CMSDs global Design Characterization and Test Engineering team on high-voltage and high-accuracy design and test techniques.
• Develop product definition and specifications to achieve optimal tradeoffs between product competitiveness and development cost.
• Collaborate with Product Definition and Marketing on product roadmaps and long-term IP development plans.
• Represent CAD R&D and contribute to key technical meetings and initiatives at product group (AMS) and company level.

Qualifications :

• MSEE or PhD in EE 15 years semiconductor design leadership experience
• Proven track record in designing high-accuracy products with resolution better than 1uV.
• Proven track record in designing high-performance AFE products with ENOB of 16-bit or above.
•  Proven track record in designing high-resolution SAR (16-bit or above) and Delta-Sigma (24-bit or above) A/D converters.
• Proven track record in designing high-resolution Nyquist D/A converters (18-bit or above).
• Proven track record in designing high-speed A/D converters with data rate over 100MSPS.
• Highly knowledgeable in ESD Latch-up and IC reliability issues.
• Highly knowledgeable in state-of-the-art design methodologies and tools.
• Highly knowledgeable in state-of-the-art mixed-signal and BCD process technologies.

Additional Information :

The expected annual pay range for this position is $208-$260K. This position is also eligible for bonus opportunities. Please note that final offer amount will be dependent on geographic location applicable experience and skillset of the candidate. we put in the additional information
