Company Description Noble Woof Dog Training provides welfare-centered puppy socialization, dog training, and behavior modification through private in-home training, group classes, puppy socials, drop-off puppy school, and dog day training. Certified trainers use clicker training and other reward-based methods to strengthen the human-animal bond while addressing behavior concerns ranging from mild manners to complex cases. The team applies behavior science to help clients communicate clearly and effectively with their dogs. By focusing on positive reinforcement and culturally appropriate behaviors, Noble Woof nurtures confident, engaged dogs and supports guardians in building lasting, respectful relationships with their canine companions. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Certified Canine Behavior Consultant role based in Portland, OR. The consultant will conduct behavior assessments, design individualized training and behavior modification plans, and deliver sessions through private lessons, group classes, and day training programs. Daily responsibilities include implementing positive reinforcement protocols, tracking progress, and adjusting plans based on ongoing behavior analysis. The role also involves educating guardians on training techniques, welfare-centered handling, and prevention strategies, while maintaining clear communication and documentation in client records. Collaboration with the training team, participation in case reviews, and ongoing professional development in behavior science and training best practices are expected. Qualifications Strong foundation in behavior science, including Applied Behavior Analysis and Behavior Analysis, with the ability to apply these principles in real-world canine cases. Knowledge of Psychology and Behavioral Health as they relate to stress, fear, anxiety, and welfare in companion animals. Demonstrated experience with Behavior Modification for canine behavior concerns such as reactivity, fear, aggression, and separation-related issues using humane, evidence-based methods. Professional certification as a canine behavior consultant or trainer (e.g., CBCC-KA, CDBC, KPA, CPDT, or equivalent), or the ability to obtain certification within a defined timeframe. Proficiency with positive reinforcement, clicker training, and low-stress handling techniques. Clear, compassionate communication skills for coaching clients in person and in writing, including the ability to explain behavior concepts in accessible language. Ability to work independently on-site, manage a varied caseload, and maintain accurate, timely case notes and training plans. Physical ability to safely handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments in an active training environment.
