Registered Nurse - Night Shift

Registered NurseProvides professional nursing care to patients according to established procedures; coordinates care planning with other disciplines.Experience preferred but not requiredGraduate of an accredited program of nursingCurrent RN license in the state where employed, CPR certified, ACLS requiredMaintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, continuous quality improvement program, environmental and infection control standards and other administrative duties as assignedWrites initial nursing histories, assess patient's conditions and develop individual care plans for patientsAdministers and controls narcotics and medicationsEvaluates outcomes of patient care, consults with other specialist as required and adjusts nursing care processes as necessary to ensure optimal patient careMonitors, maintains, and ensures accuracy of recording patient care documentation, Maintains all required reports, records, stats, etc.Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patient's families in accordance with hospital standardsMaintains patient records and charts to ensure an accurate record of patient's medical treatmentObserves emotional stability of patients, expresses interest in their progress and prepares for continuing care after dischargeAssists other members of the nursing team and/or other disciplinesAssist physicians with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient careDemonstrates sensitivity to patient comfort and privacyArranges for patients ordered diagnostic and therapeutic servicesMonitors medical condition of the patient report changes to the appropriate personnelEnhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshopsAttends meetings as requiredEnsures an adequate stock of supplies and proper functioning of equipmentCooperates with other personnel to achieve department objectives and maintain good employee relations and interdepartmental objectivesOrients, instructs, and trains assigned personnelDemonstrates competency and professionalism in performing the overall patient care and supervisory responsibilities of the RN positionMaintains confidentiality as defined by hospital policyThis is a night shift position. Night shift is 4:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m.
