Job Opportunity: Chief of Cardiology
Our organization is on the lookout for a Board-Certified Cardiologist to take the helm of our dynamic Cardiovascular Service at a prominent medical center located in Hartford, Connecticut. This is a remarkable chance to showcase your leadership abilities in diagnosing and treating a wide range of heart conditions, from the most common to the highly complex.
As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate with advanced heart-failure specialists, electrophysiologists, interventional cardiologists, both invasive and non-invasive cardiologists, structural heart specialists, cardiothoracic surgeons, advanced practitioners, and dedicated nursing staff. Together, we are committed to delivering exceptional cardiac care at one of the highest-volume cardiovascular institutes in New England.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the planning, organization, direction, and management of high-quality Cardiology services at the medical center and its outpatient facilities.
- Collaborate with leadership to provide oversight for inpatient, hospital, and ambulatory cardiology programs, including community outreach for care coordination.
- Develop processes, supervise staff, recruit providers, and build relationships with hospital leadership and service lines.
- Ensure compliance with all hospital and regulatory standards, maintaining adherence to The Joint Commission and other relevant agencies.
- Work with senior leadership to expand service lines within the department, providing visionary leadership to enhance existing programs and initiate new projects.
- Enjoy a flexible schedule that balances clinical and administrative responsibilities.
- Function as a Cardiologist in your specialty area, with clinical opportunities in non-invasive cardiology, electrophysiology, and advanced heart failure for both inpatient and outpatient services, tailored to your preferences.
- Conduct consultations, perform testing, and provide care in both outpatient and hospital settings.
- Optionally hold an academic appointment at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine or the Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University.
- Proven experience in leadership roles within clinical Cardiology/Cardiovascular/Heart and Vascular Care.
- Passionate about all facets of cardiac care and rehabilitation, with a desire to teach fellows, supported by academic affiliations at UCONN and/or Quinnipiac.
- Interest in a blend of clinical and administrative duties.
- Preference for a Non-Invasive General Cardiologist with leadership experience.
- Board Certified in Cardiovascular Medicine.
- Licensed to practice in Connecticut.
- Completed residency training accredited by the ACGME in the United States.
