This role involves coordinating and implementing patient care in a clinical setting, focusing on quality and efficiency to support patient outcomes effectively.

Key Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

• Obtain and record initial assessments, establishing priorities based on patient age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs
• Re-assess patients systematically to identify progress and trends needing intervention
• Develop and implement a measurable, individualized plan of care within the established time frame
• Make comprehensive nursing decisions based on factual interpretations and evaluations of patient outcomes
• Participate in patient/significant other health education and discharge planning
• Implement and document timely interventions appropriate to patient needs
• Evaluate the plan of care and perform various Point of Care testing procedures

Requirements of the Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

• Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license required
• Current BLS certification from AHA required
• Current ACLS certification required
• Current NRP certification required
• Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Nursing
• Relevant experience and knowledge for the patient population served
