New Business Conflicts Clearance Analyst

Opportunity We are seeking a New Business Conflicts Clearance Analyst to join our firm. Positions are available in New York, Boston, DC, Chicago, Houston, and California offices (hybrid). Job Logistics Multiple shifts are available: Boston, NYC, DC – 9:30am to 5:30pm ET (hybrid) Chicago, Houston – 11:00am to 7:00pm CT (hybrid) Los Angeles, Palo Alto – 9:00am to 5:00pm PT (hybrid) Los Angeles, Palo Alto – 11:00am to 7:00pm PT (hybrid) Responsibilities Conduct thorough conflicts checks and maintain accurate records in the conflicts database. Review and analyze conflict reports to identify potential conflicts of interest that require resolution. Collaborate with team members, conflicts attorneys, and the Office of the General Counsel to resolve ethical conflicts and facilitate new matter openings. Communicate effectively with attorneys and staff to gather information for conflict checks and clarify discrepancies in the iManage request form. Validate the requirements for each conflict check with the requesting lawyer or secretary to ensure compliance with firm policies and legal standards. Conduct corporate research using internal and external resources to verify accuracy of information and understand corporate relationships and structures. Coordinate with the Client Accounting Department and other relevant departments to ensure integrity and consistency of database information. Provide coverage for department functions, including after‑hours and weekend support as needed, to ensure continuous operation of conflict resolution processes. Demonstrate effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Manage firm resources responsibly and comply with firm operations, policies, and procedures. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Knowledge of relevant firm computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and the ability to learn new software and operating systems. Familiarity with conflicts database software, preferably iManage or Intapp, and a general understanding of the conflicts resolution process in a legal or professional services context. Strong attention to detail, analytical and organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment. Ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and sound judgment, working independently and collaboratively. Ability to adjust hours and work the necessary hours to meet operating and business needs. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree. 2+ years of experience in new business conflicts analysis at an Am Law 200 firm is strongly preferred. Experience in regulatory, audit, compliance, or risk review roles involving analysis of client and matter information is also considered. Experience using iManage or Intapp (or similar platforms in comparable high‑stakes environments) is preferred.
