The Cardiac Sonographer performs advanced echocardiography exams, including stress and transesophageal procedures, utilizing various imaging techniques. The role requires independent patient assessment and detailed imaging to support accurate diagnosis, with proficiency in vascular examinations preferred. Responsibilities:
- Conduct two-dimensional, color Spectral Doppler, M-mode, stress, and transesophageal echocardiography exams as ordered.
- Analyze patient medical histories and synthesize data to produce accurate imaging results.
- Operate and maintain ultrasound and clinical emergency equipment effectively.
- Collaborate with physicians regarding abnormal or complex findings to ensure precise diagnosis.
- Cross-train and perform vascular examinations, enhancing diagnostic versatility.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout all testing procedures.
- Possess 2+ years of current echocardiography and cardiac sonography experience.
- Hold RDCS/RCS certification through the ARDMS or CCI, or equivalent credentials.
- Maintain ARDMS certification as a registered diagnostic cardiac sonographer.
- Be proficient in or willing to cross-train for vascular exams.
- Demonstrate ability to operate HIS and CIS computer systems.
- Have active BLS certification through the American Heart Association or ARC.
