Project Coordinator - Facilities Renovation & Improvement Projects (Greensboro)

Pay Rate: $32.00 per hour

Our client is seeking a Project Coordinator with experience coordinating physical facility renovation, repair, and improvement projects at a commercial or corporate facility in Greensboro, NC.

This position will support projects such as restroom renovations, boiler replacements, mechanical and building system upgrades, equipment replacements, and other facility improvement projects .

The Project Coordinator will work closely with on-site teams, client stakeholders, contractors, suppliers, and external vendors to coordinate projects from planning through completion and closeout.

Candidates should have direct experience supporting or coordinating physical renovation, construction, facilities, or building improvement projects. General project coordination experience focused primarily on IT, software, administrative, or process-related projects will not be sufficient for this position.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate facility renovation, repair, replacement, and improvement projects from initiation through completion and closeout.
• Support projects involving restroom renovations, boiler replacements, mechanical systems, building infrastructure, equipment upgrades, and other physical improvements.
• Work closely with site teams, contractors, suppliers, vendors, and client stakeholders to coordinate project activities.
• Schedule and coordinate vendor and contractor activities, including site access, project work, progress checks, and follow-up.
• Conduct on-site project check-ins to monitor progress and identify potential issues, delays, or outstanding items.
• Maintain and update project plans, schedules, milestones, action items, and project documentation.
• Communicate regularly with internal teams and external vendors through email, phone calls, meetings, and on-site discussions.
• Track project status and provide timely updates to stakeholders.
• Assist with resolving scheduling, vendor, site, and project-related issues.
• Ensure required project documentation is maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate project completion and closeout , ensuring outstanding work and documentation are completed.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain professional relationships with the client, site teams, vendors, and other project partners.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2–4 years of project coordination or project management experience involving facilities, construction, renovation, or building improvement projects.
• Experience coordinating physical projects in an operating facility , such as renovations, equipment replacements, mechanical upgrades, or building improvements.
• Experience working directly with contractors, vendors, suppliers, and on-site teams.
• Strong project coordination and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, schedules, priorities, and deliverables simultaneously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong follow-through and attention to detail.
• Excellent customer service and stakeholder-management skills.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
• Ability to maintain project schedules, trackers, documentation, and status reports.

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft Project experience.
• Project management or project coordination training.
• Experience within facilities management, commercial real estate, construction, building operations, or capital improvement projects .
• Experience coordinating mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, infrastructure, or other building-related projects.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate understands what it takes to coordinate a physical renovation or improvement project within an active facility . They are comfortable working with contractors and vendors, conducting on-site check-ins, monitoring schedules, following up on outstanding work, communicating with multiple stakeholders, and driving projects through final completion and closeout.

This person does not need to be a construction expert, but they should understand the realities of renovating, replacing, repairing, installing, or improving physical components of a building and be comfortable coordinating the people and activities required to get that work completed.
