Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough consultations with patients to assess their physical health concerns and symptoms.
- Diagnose movement dysfunctions and formulate customized treatment plans aimed at rehabilitation and recovery.
- Instruct patients on effective therapeutic exercise techniques to improve their mobility and strength.
- Administer therapeutic modalities such as massage, stimulation, or manual therapy to enhance healing.
- Guide patients in the proper use of mobility aids, including wheelchairs and walkers, to facilitate safe ambulation.
- Accurately maintain comprehensive patient records and document goals and progress related to treatment.
- Provide advisement to patients and their families regarding in-home exercise programs and self-care techniques.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Our clinic serves a wide-ranging patient population including children, adults, and seniors experiencing various physical challenges. This role provides the opportunity to work with patients suffering from sports injuries, post-operative rehabilitation, chronic pain, and neurological conditions. Each interaction aims to empower patients through education and effective therapy, fostering independence and higher quality of life.
Qualifications
- A Doctor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
- Current state license to practice physical therapy in Virginia.
- Proficient communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with patients and health care team members.
- Strong organizational skills, including proficiency in word processing and electronic medical record systems.
- Ability to adapt and remain agile in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Preferred Experience
While a minimum of two years of experience in a clinical physical therapy setting is required, we welcome applicants who have worked in outpatient scenarios. Experience in pediatrics, geriatrics, or sports medicine will be viewed favorably. Compensation and Benefits
