Compensation Specialist

Salary The annual salary for this position ranges from $45,400 to $45,400. The final offer will be commensurate with the candidate’s relevant experience and qualifications. Purpose of Position The Compensation Specialist provides operational support to the Compensation Department by completing the initial intake and review of compensation requests and related documentation. This role responds to routine compensation inquiries, prepares correspondence, updates job and position information in the HRIS System, and maintains accurate department records and files. Essential Functions Complete an initial intake and review of compensation requests submitted by various departments; ensure all necessary documents are received, review documents for completeness, and appropriate signatures. Draft compensation related correspondence (letter, emails etc.) to departments; maintain and update department files, records, forms and documents etc. Monitor department email inbox; answer basic Compensation questions; refers complex questions to higher-level staff. Responsible for updating and uploading job descriptions into HRIS system and maintaining a repository of job descriptions. Responsible for creating, maintaining and updating job codes, job titles, pay grades etc. in HRIS System. Submit updates for department websites to appropriate colleagues; ensure information on department website is up to date. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of four (4) years of experience providing secretarial or administrative support OR five (5) years of equivalent experience and education. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Communication or related degree. Experience with UTShare/PeopleSoft. Experience in Compensation or Human Resources. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to maintain accurate records Skilled in utilizing Microsoft Office Suite Ability to draft, read and comprehend a variety of correspondence Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize workSkilled in understanding, interpreting, and communicating policies, procedures, and protocols Work Schedule Monday through Friday; 8:00am through 5:00pm Hybrid work environment (remote & office) Working Conditions May work around standard office conditions.
