Data Scientist/Analyst

Data Scientist/Analyst PositionWe are seeking driven, thoughtful candidates with experience in impact/performance assessments and data visualization to support impactful initiatives for our Federal clients at the U.S. Department of State (DOS). As a Data Scientist/Analyst with Censeo, you will support economic and performance analysis and reporting for a key Department of State program. You will work closely with DOS teams to establish performance metrics, collect performance data, conduct analysis, and develop dashboard reporting for a flagship Department program.Key Responsibilities:Define baseline performance indicators and develop methodologies for ongoing data collection across exchange program initiativesMeasure the longitudinal impact of past program participants on U.S. economic and business ecosystemsProvide federal, state, and local-level fiscal impact estimates, including revenue generation and tax implicationsImplement systems for continuous tracking and timely reporting of key performance metricsBuild an interactive, public-facing dashboard that displays real-time performance data, including state, regional, and national trendsDevelop a flagship annual economic impact report with key findingsProvide monthly and annual summaries for internal and external useDeliver special reports as needed (e.g., country-specific, sector-specific deep dives, impact on rural vs. urban economies)Compare exchange program impacts to other global exchange modelsEvaluate public-private partnerships and contributions from private sector employersCollaborate with cross-functional teams to develop realistic, innovative solutions to complex challengesCommunicate findings and recommendations clearly through written reports and presentationsBuild and maintain strong client relationships, proactively identifying and mitigating delivery risksThe Ideal Candidate: At Censeo, we value unique perspectives and a passion for solving complex problems. We're looking for candidates who bring curiosity, initiative, and a desire to make a meaningful impact.BA/BS required; Master's or PhD strongly preferred in Economics, Applied Economics, Public Policy, or a closely related field5-10+ years of experience conducting economic analysis, policy evaluation, and performance measurement for federal agencies or other large organizationsStrong quantitative and analytical skills, using tools such as advanced Excel, R, Python, STATA, or SAS to perform economic analysis and data modelingProven experience delivering public-facing analytical products to produce clear summary reporting for nontechnical audiences using analytics platforms such as Tableau, Power BI, or equivalentAbility to document methodologies, assumptions, and limitations and communicate clearly to stakeholdersFamiliarity with federal reporting requirements, performance measurement frameworks, and performance evaluation best practicesExperience supporting or working directly with the U.S. Department of State or other international organization (preferred)Experience in consulting, professional services, or federal government contractingExcellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to synthesize complex informationExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong attention to detail and accuracyThe Company: Censeo Consulting Group is a top Washington D.C. based management consulting firm dedicated to helping public sector and non-profit clients build operational excellence, deliver better outcomes, and lower cost.
