Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Overland Park, Kansas. Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 10/26/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Summary Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position in a healthcare facility. This role involves providing specialized care to adult and geriatric patients, with a focus on monitoring and managing patients' conditions in a step-down setting. The position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic team environment, adhering to established clinical protocols and patient safety standards. Job Details Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week Required Qualifications: Valid RN license, certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS). At least 2 years of experience in a Progressive Care Unit or similar setting. Additional qualifications include experience with charting systems such as Epic, patient management, and familiarity with cardiac telemetry, central line care, feeding tube management, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and skills in neuro stepdown, pre/post cardiac catheterization, and sheath removal. Preferred Qualifications: Prior community hospital experience, experience with comprehensive patient diagnoses including stroke, sepsis, wound care, alcohol withdrawal, suicidal ideation, renal failure, atrial fibrillation, gastrointestinal bleeding, and COVID-19 protocols. Additional Information: Floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities as needed. Travel compliance involves both Kansas and Missouri or having a compact license in hand at the time of submission. Weekend shifts include a minimum of 8 shifts every six weeks, with holiday requirements based on unit needs. All compliance documents and modules must be completed prior to the start date in accordance with facility policies.
