Description TITLE: Therapist Mobile Crisis - VA SUMMARY: Provides Crisis Intervention, Crisis Stabilization, assessment and clinical services to clients in the community experiencing a behavioral health crisis situation, or perceived crisis situation. Assessments will occur in office-based settings, tele-video, as well as community-based locations. Responsible for providing, coordinating or managing treatment options for clients in crisis situations across the service continuum from least restrictive to most secure alternatives. Responsible for making independent decisions to ensure client and public safety.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Education: Minimum of Masters Degree in social work, psychology or other related field required.
Licensure: LMHP or LMHP-E preferred.
Certification: Must be designated as a Pre Screener or eligible for certification by DBHDS in Virginia and the designation must be current.
Experience: In crisis counseling and intervention techniques preferred.
Knowledge/Skills:
2. Assists consumers with crisis resolution and general problem-solving. Develops effective and measurable individualized service plans for crisis stabilization and crisis intervention plans as quickly as possible from onset of crisis, to avert hospitalization. Monitors the plan to ensure all needed services are provided as stated in plan, and changes plan as needed.
3. As appropriate works as part of the emergency services team to provide appropriate direct and client related services including emergency services and pre-admission screenings. Demonstrates sound clinical judgment and strong risk assessment skills. Responds to consumers and the community in a timely manner. Interacts with consumers and community partners in a manner that supports collaboration.
4. Meets productivity standards for services provided.
5. Performs at the expected levels of individual and team productivity. Maintains complete and accurate medical records, and completes all administrative documentation (i.e. Tier, incident reports, leave requests, etc.) on time. Stays informed about and follows all Frontier Health and funding sources' policies and procedures. Works with team to assure all services are provided at the expected levels of quality and productivity and are in compliance with all applicable agency policies as well as any local, state, and federal requirements including guidelines as they pertain to Medicaid Waiver, State Plan and Clinic Options.
6. Strives to promote continuous quality improvement of services through the timely completion of QI activities (i.e. satisfaction surveys, outcome measurement reports, etc.) and participates in ongoing networking with individuals served, families and/or care givers, other Frontier Health programs, and other community agencies and resources as needed.
7. Ensures that client records meet licensure and reimbursement guidelines and accurately completes administrative and other paperwork as required.
8. Assists clients in maintaining stability following discharge from the program by providing short-term crisis counseling, crisis, and case management services to clients until the client has established services in other agency programs or in the community.
9. Maintains a good working relationship with both internal and external referral sources and provides community education or training as needed.
10. Assures all consumer records are in compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal requirements including guidelines as they pertain to DBHDS Licensure Regulations, Waiver, State Plan and Clinic Options Medicaid.
11. Promotes positive communication and collaboration among team members and other community resources needed to provide quality services. Conducts self in a professional manner at all times. Participates in team meetings unless absence is excused, and relays other helpful information as necessary by voice mail and/or e-mail. Serves on designated teams, committees and work groups.
12. Advocates for services on behalf of clients and their families/care givers as needed. Attends at least one Human Rights related training annually. Documents and reports suspected violations of client's rights immediately.

Requirements Day or Night Shift ES Clinician-PRN. Candidate will need to have completed a master's degree in Counseling/Social Work and will need to be willing to become a certified prescreener. Position will be remote.

Knowledge/Skills:
- Requires demonstrated knowledge of Crisis Intervention and Crisis Stabilization models and theories and resources available to help individuals with serious emotional and developmental disabilities, including individuals with co-occurring disorders (MH/DD, MH/SA, and MH/DD/SA).
- Clinical competence in managing suicidal clients.
- Providing mental status examination, diagnosing according to DSM-5, establishing least restrictive treatment, and providing Brief Treatment.
- Understanding of the use of psychotropic medications, drug overdose, common medical complications that may mimic psychiatric illness.
- Working knowledge of substances of abuse and the ability to assess the need for medical detox. -Ability to work as part of a clinical treatment team is essential, as is the ability to cooperatively with emergency services and other agency staff and to appropriately interact with community referrals. -Clinician must be able to respond to client emergencies both in person and over the phone and to provide clinical documentation of services provided.
- Working knowledge of Medicaid guidelines as they pertain to Crisis Intervention, Crisis Stabilization, emergency, and community service provision.
- Basic knowledge of human rights, ethical, and legal concerns as they relate to providing clinical and residential services.
- Ability and willingness to work closely with other members of a multi-disciplinary treatment team Knowledge and understanding of best practice treatment modalities for seriously emotionally disturbed, serious mental illness, intellectual and developmental, substance use and co-occurring disorders to include behavioral supports and interventions.
- Demonstrated understanding of issues around cultural competence and finds value in a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
