2025-2026 College & Career Center Paraprofessional @ Kerr High School Primary Purpose: To research and solicit college scholarships, financial aid and admission requirements. To provide, inform, and make available college, financial aid, and scholarship information to the students. Qualifications: Education/Certification: High school graduate or GED Qualify for appropriate state paraprofessional certification Special Knowledge/Skills: Strong organizational, verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills Self-motivated and the ability to work independently without supervision Ability to plan, organize, and schedule work projects Understanding of computer applications and willingness to learn emerging technologies Demonstrate capacity and aptitude for work to be performed Time management and time accountability skills required Experience: Three (3) years’ experience working in a school district Major Responsibilities and Duties: Program Management Communicate college and scholarship information to the students through bulletins, meetings, and announcements. Provide a current college/technical school information resource for students. Maintain accurate and current scholarship and financial aid information, including forms, newsletters, applications, etc. Assist students needing college/technical school information and/or completing forms. Schedule college/technical school representative visits to campus. Assist students with career searches. Other Conduct oneself in a professional, ethical, and responsible manner. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures. Maintain an appropriate level of technology competence to meet the current and future needs of Alief. Implement alternative methods of instruction as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities: None Evaluation Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of Non-Instructional Paraprofessional Personnel.
