Medical Assistant - OBGYN

Responsibilities Perform administrative and clinical duties delegated by the physician Assist physicians with patient care in compliance with the Ohio Administrative Code Facilitate efficient patient flow by preparing patients for visits and providing provider-directed services and education Complete Care Connect EMR documentation and maintain the EMR in-basket Perform administrative duties and keep patient information current and updated Maintain and clean the environment, work area, and equipment; report malfunctions Collect and monitor patient data and report patient needs as directed Maintain documentation for chargeable patient items and services Communicate and collaborate with patients, customers, and the healthcare team Engage in quality improvement, process improvement, and operational efficiency initiatives Complete required continuous training and department-specific education Promote patient quality, safety, and experience initiatives Serve as a subject matter expert/resource for quality, performance improvement, and EMR, including EPIC Super User responsibilities Support development of standard work and necessary customizations Function as a clinical preceptor and train new staff Ensure compliance with scope of practice and high-reliability safety, quality, and efficiency requirements Requirements High school diploma or GED required Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required Successful completion of Care Connect EMR documentation skills Compliance with Ohio Administrative Code, Ohio policy, provider licensure, and scope of practice Completion of required continuous training and department-specific education Ability to perform administrative and clinical duties delegated by physicians Ability to collect, monitor, document, and report patient data Ability to communicate and collaborate with patients, customers, and healthcare team members Ability to support patient flow, quality, safety, and operational efficiency initiatives Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in performing administrative and clinical duties, ensuring compliance with the Ohio Administrative Code, and maintaining accurate EMR documentation.
