Radiologic Technologist - SUNY Upstate Medical University - Syracuse, NY SUNY Upstate Medical University is seeking a qualified Radiologic Technologist – CT to perform diagnostic imaging procedures under the direction of departmental radiologists. The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for performing radiographic and CT examinations to support physician diagnosis and patient care. This includes greeting and preparing patients, explaining procedures, positioning patients appropriately, selecting optimal imaging techniques to ensure high-quality diagnostic studies, and maintaining strict adherence to radiation safety protocols to minimize patient exposure. The technologist will demonstrate strong technical proficiency in operating imaging equipment, ensuring efficient performance, and promptly reporting any equipment malfunctions. The technologist will also process imaging data and enter accurate information into the Radiology Information System (RIS) to support documentation and billing functions. Responsibilities include following departmental policies, procedures, and clinical protocols; collaborating with radiologists and healthcare teams; and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities Perform CT and radiologic imaging procedures as ordered by physicians Prepare and position patients to ensure accurate diagnostic results Operate CT imaging equipment and maintain image quality standards Adhere to radiation safety protocols Document procedures within the Radiology Information System (RIS) Monitor equipment functionality and report issues promptly Follow departmental protocols and clinical procedures Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare staff to support patient care Qualifications Associate’s Degree (A.A.S.) in Radiologic Technology or equivalent Current New York State Radiologic Technologist license/registration required Minimum 1 year of CT/MRI experience as a radiologic technologist Strong knowledge of imaging equipment, CT procedures, and patient care practices Must successfully pass pre-employment health clearance Assignments Assignment 1: Start Date: June 22, 2026 – End Date: September 25, 2026 – Schedule: 3x12‑hour shifts – Shift: Saturday, Sunday, Monday – 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM Assignment 2: Start Date: June 29, 2026 – End Date: October 2, 2026 – Openings: 1 – Shift: Evenings – Schedule: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM – Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Rotational weekends and holidays This role is critical in delivering timely, high-quality diagnostic imaging services that directly impact patient outcomes at SUNY Upstate Medical University. #J-18808-Ljbffr
