Maintenance TechnicianThe part-time Maintenance Technician supports the Maintenance department at the Raleigh Convention Center and Red Hat Amphitheater to ensure our maintenance operations run smoothly and attendees have a memorable experience.About You: Do you have a passion for keeping things running smoothly? Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.Maintain and repair the facility, keeping the venue impressive to the public.Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure everything runs smoothly, maximizing equipment lifespan and minimizing downtime.Respond promptly to customer requests and troubleshoot technical issues efficiently.Maintain a clean and organized work area, promoting safety and efficiency.Typical QualificationsEducation and Experience High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalency; 1 to 3 years' experience in routine/minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, mechanical or related maintenance work OR Any equivalent combination of training and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be substitutedKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Experience in general maintenance, with a strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systemsA knack for troubleshooting and problem-solving, keeping calm under pressureExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, effectively interacting with othersA commitment to safety, adhering to all protocols and proceduresWork a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays, as determined by venue eventsADA and Other Requirements: Work Environment and Physical Effort: Medium: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.Work Environment: Work is typically performed in an office or similar indoor environment. Employees may occasionally work in or around outdoor environment, confined spaces, vehicles, warehouse environments, and shop environments.Work Exposures: There is frequent exposure to extreme cold (below 32 degrees), extreme heat (above 100 degrees) and moving mechanical parts.
