UTS - Temporary Radiology Technician at NC State
The primary duties of this position include the following:
- Taking X-ray images of the human body per order by provider.
- Interacting with internal staff, patients, and referring providers through email, phone, and in-person communications.
- Keeping equipment clean and in working order.
- Being responsible for maintaining equipment and quality control.
- Attending scheduled meetings, drills, and training.
- Performing technical procedures, including patient positioning for radiographs and digital image capturing.
- Providing excellent patient care by applying full knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and disease processes.
- Providing quick and accurate information regarding each patient, acting as a liaison between clinicians and radiologists.
- Proficiently entering data into the electronic health record.
- Maintaining a clean working environment to ensure standards are followed and infection is not spread.
- Handling medical, biological, and infectious waste appropriately.
- Following all radiation safety, OSHA, and Environmental Health and Safety standards.

Work Schedule - 8:00 am 5:00 pm, Monday Friday
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Experience/Education - Graduate from Radiology Program, ARRT certification.
Department Required Skills:
Experience with Electronic Health Records software.
Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodations.
Skilled in the use of radiology equipment and in the performance of procedures.
Ability to work independently and practice good judgment to ensure high-quality care.
Ability to perform specialized orthopedic procedures such as weight-bearing lower extremities.
CPR certification (can also obtain during position) ARRT certification.
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education - EHS Software skills Radiology imaging skills
Required License or Certification - Graduate from Radiology Program, ARRT certification
Valid NC Driver's License required? - No
Commercial Driver's License Required? - No
