Our engineers and space scientists are on a mission to eliminate the connectivity gaps faced by today's five billion mobile subscribers and finally bring broadband to the billions who remain unconnected.Position OverviewWe are seeking a Thermal Blanket Fabrication Technician to join our team in supporting the production of high-performance satellites. This role involves the precise fabrication, assembly, and installation of thermal insulation blankets. The ideal candidate will have strong manual dexterity, attention to detail, and experience working with specialized materials in a fast-paced environment.Key Responsibilities:Fabricate custom thermal blankets based on engineering drawings, patterns, and technical specificationsMeasure, cut, sew, and assemble thermal insulation materials such as reflective films and foilsOperate industrial sewing machines, hot knives, and other fabrication tools safely and accuratelyApply binding, Velcro, snaps, and other fasteners to thermal blankets as requiredPerform quality control checks to ensure accuracy, proper fit, and compliance with specificationsRead and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematicsCollaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve fabrication issues or suggest improvementsMaintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety protocolsTrack materials used and maintain documentation for traceabilityMay assist with on-site installation or fitting of thermal blankets in equipment or systemsQualificationsEducation:High school diploma or equivalentExperience:A minimum of 0–1 years in fabrication, sewing, insulation, or a related fieldPreferred Qualifications:Experience in aerospace, industrial insulation, or thermal systems manufacturingKnowledge of aerospace film materials and their propertiesExperience with pattern making or custom sewing/fabricationSoft Skills:Strong interpersonal skillsProven ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teamsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsMeticulous attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of all documentation and project deliverablesAbility to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environmentTechnology Stack:Industrial sewing machinesHot knives and cutting toolsBasic computer skills for documentation and traceabilityAbility to read and interpret CAD drawings and technical schematicsPhysical Requirements:Ability to work in a standard fabrication environmentAbility to lift up to 50 lbs.Ability to stand for extended periodsManual dexterity for handling small components and tools25% travel required to Midland, TXThis job description may not be inclusive to the duties and responsibilities listed.
