Respiratory Therapist

Description:
Specialty: RRT Shift: 3x12 nights, 1900-0700 Weekend coverage required: Every other weekend Guaranteed hours: 36 hours per week Floating required between locations as needed Patient diagnoses include CHF, COPD, pneumonia, respiratory failure, and respiratory infections. Special procedures involve ABG sampling, ventilator management, patient assessment skills, medication administration, and pulmonary hygiene. Knowledge of equipment such as Hamilton Vent, Servo-U, NKV330, and V60 is essential. Skills needed include extubation, intubation assistance, airway placement, suctioning, sputum specimen collection, and tracheostomy care. Familiarity with high flow nasal cannula, BiPAP, and CPAP is required. Responsibilities include troubleshooting high pressure alarms and weaning from mechanical ventilation. Experience in both adult critical care and long-term care is preferred.
