Senior Java Developer

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior Java Developer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Pennington, NJ and Jersey City, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

This role is focused on designing, developing, and supporting high-performance, scalable microservices and event-driven applications for critical order management and trade processing platforms. The ideal candidate will leverage strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, SQL, and Kafka to deliver resilient, production-ready solutions for high-volume transaction systems.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and support scalable microservices and event-driven applications
• Develop highly available and resilient enterprise solutions for high-volume financial and trading platforms
• Design and develop RESTful APIs
• Troubleshoot production database and application issues with strong debugging skills
• Utilize Git, Maven/Gradle, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments

Requirements:

• 8+ years of hands-on Java development experience
• Strong experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security, and Microservices architecture
• Strong SQL skills with experience in complex queries, joins, performance tuning, and data modeling
• Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or CockroachDB
• Strong knowledge of Apache Kafka, including producers, consumers, partitioning, and event-driven architecture patterns
• Experience with asynchronous messaging and distributed systems

Desired Skills:

• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift
• Experience with Splunk, Dynatrace, or similar monitoring tools
• Experience implementing resiliency patterns such as circuit breakers, retries, and failover mechanisms
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies

Pay range: $58.26 - $66.26 per hour
