Key Position Details:

• 1.0 FTE (80 hours per two-week pay period)
• 8-hour day shift (Primarily day shift with need to flex depending upon needs of the team)
• No weekends
• Operational oversight over St. Francis Lab and Southbridge Urgent Care, and technical oversight of St. Francis Express Care Shakopee and Savage

Job Description:

Oversees the day-to-day operations in support of all facets of the laboratory operation. Ensures effective operation and maintenance of all laboratory equipment, manages testing, develops and manages budgets, meets customer service levels, and regulatory requirements. Manages staff including scheduling, performance management and fostering employee engagement.

Principle Responsibilities

• Oversees daily operational performance.
• Monitors and oversees implementation of process improvements to meet or enhance quality and service targets.
• Takes accountability and resolves next level escalation on customer service issues.
• Assists in developing and implementing operations budget.
• Monitors financial, volume, and productivity data to meet targets.
• Implements cost reduction opportunities when identified.
• Develops and maintains laboratory policies and procedures.
• May have accountability for management of a non-laboratory department.
• Management of staff.
• Performance management of employee, including performance reviews.
• Hires and onboards new employees.
• Trains, orients and maintains competencies for employees.
• Maintains scheduling, time off approval and timecard sign-off.
• Maintains optimal staffing.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in medical technology or related field or
• Health, Education, and Welfare(HEW) equivalency exam (pre 1988) with seven years of relevant experience
• 3+ years of Laboratory experience
• 4+ years of progressive management accountability

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in medical technology or related field

Licenses/Certifications

• Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) certification by a recognized agency such as ASCP, AMT, or NCA in specialty area incumbent will be working in or related specialty certification such as Histotechnologist (HTL), or Cytotechnologist (CT) upon hire required

Physical Demands

• Light Work:
• Lifting weight up to 20 lbs. occasionally, up to 10 lbs. frequently

Pay Range

Pay Range: $46.42 to $64.22 per hourThe pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience and education. Additional incentives may be available, including discretionary monetary bonuses, goal-based bonuses, and other financial incentives.
