AAT Trainee Accountant / ATT Tax Adviser – Dumfries Armstrong Watson is offering a high‑end apprenticeship for trainees who want to earn while they learn and avoid university debt. The role is a 3‑year training programme that will lead to an AAT or ATT qualification, with the possibility of exemptions towards a Chartered Accountant or Chartered Tax Adviser qualification. Roles & Responsibilities You will work across two teams: Business Services – preparing accounts, bookkeeping and VAT returns. Tax Compliance – preparing tax returns, calculating tax liabilities and assisting with tax planning projects. Requirements All candidates must meet the following criteria: Achieve a minimum of 7 GCSEs at Grade 5 (C) or above (including Maths, English and at least one Science) or a minimum of 6 National Fives (including Maths, English and at least one Science) at Grade C or above. Achieve or be predicted to achieve a minimum of 96 UCAS Points at A Level, Scottish Highers or BTEC Level 3. Be at least 18 years old by 31 August 2026.
