Overview The Float Pool Nursing Department is a dynamic and versatile team of highly skilled registered nurses who provide essential staffing support across multiple units within the healthcare system. These nurses are expertly cross trained in various specialties and are deployed to areas experiencing increased patient volume, staffing shortages, or other emergent needs. They bring exceptional flexibility, adaptability, and clinical expertise to every assignment, ensuring continuity of care and upholding the highest standard of patient safety and satisfaction. Their broad skill set enables them to seamlessly integrate into diverse clinical environments, including medical-surgical, PICU, NICU, emergency, and specialty units – while consistently delivering high-quality, compassionate care. Responsibilities Responsible for maintaining the knowledge and abilities essential to the performance of stated behaviors. Carries out legal responsibilities within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act. Accountable to the NURSE SVC SUPV 2 for overall work performance. Required qualifications At least 5 years of pediatric critical care (PICU) neonatal critical care will be considered (NICU) RN experience required The flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations Preferred qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Licensure and Certifications Active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California Active American Heart Association CPR Certification PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Equal Employment Opportunity The University of California is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
