Job Description We are currently seeking an Environmental specialist to support a wide variety of environmental projects. The preferred candidates will have field experience working at Superfund and other contaminated sites, running complex field programs, preparing planning documents and preparing reports for environmental characterization and remediation projects. The preferred candidate will have experience with assessing and evaluating remedial approaches for contaminated soil, sediment, and groundwater. The preferred candidate will perform well in a task leader/task manager role and have a desire to advance their career as either a project technical leader or project manager. As a member of this team, you would contribute to CDM Smith's mission by: Managing tasks on large projects or phases of small projects. Performing surface and subsurface soil sampling, groundwater sampling, and other field data collection to support environmental and water supply projects. Working on a variety of assignments, which may include field studies, research investigations, construction oversight, data interpretation and evaluation, or report preparation. Performing engineering design for environmental projects, including preparation of drawings, specifications, calculations, and developing operation, maintenance, and monitoring plans. Performing remedial construction oversight and quality control Reviewing draft assessments and calculations for compliance with federal, state and local regulations. Learning project management techniques and the CDM Smith management system. Developing external client interaction and marketing skills. Skills & Abilities Expert Knowledge of computer assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices. Expert knowledge of scientific methods and processes. Expert Knowledge of Microsoft business software (excel, word, etc.). Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Science or related discipline. 5 years of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. Amount of Travel Required 20% - 40% Driving Requirements An appropriate and valid driver's license is required. Additional Pay Range Information CDM Smith is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. This pay range is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels for the geographic location assigned to the position. In addition to geographic location, a candidate’s salary is determined by several other factors including, but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, relevant work experience, skills, required certifications, and education/training. Additional Compensation All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
