Job Description

Chandler, Gilbert, Ahwatukee, Tempe & Mesa, AZ  |  Flexible Schedule  |  Local Team Support  |  Performance Bonuses

Tutor Doctor Chandler-Gilbert-Ahwatukee is hiring science tutors, academic coaches, and specialized-support tutors for in-home and online tutoring across the East Valley — including physics, chemistry, biology, executive function coaching, special education support, and daytime homeschool tutoring. If you're searching for tutoring jobs near me or flexible teaching jobs, this is a role where you can make a meaningful difference in students' lives without managing the business side of tutoring.

Our mission is simple: to help prepare today's youth to become tomorrow's successful adults.

• $20–$35 per hour base pay
• Up to $40 per hour for select students and specialized assignments
• Performance bonuses tied to student satisfaction, reliability, and other performance criteria
• Semi-monthly pay, flexible scheduling, and the ability to choose students whose availability matches yours

Unlike online-only tutoring platforms and app-based gig tutoring jobs, Tutor Doctor tutors are backed by a dedicated local team — not an algorithm. We personally get to know every tutor and thoughtfully match you to students based on subject expertise, teaching style, student goals, and preferred travel area and availability.

We handle client acquisition, billing, family communication, scheduling coordination, and administrative logistics so you can focus on what you do best: helping students learn, grow, and build confidence.

You'll also receive:

• Ongoing support from a local team that knows you personally — not a call center
• Detailed student notes, assessments, and instructional resources
• Professional autonomy without micromanagement
• The ability to build meaningful, long-term 1:1 relationships with students, rather than one-off “drop-in” sessions

• Science tutors —  physics, chemistry, biology, nursing prerequisites
• Academic coaching —  organization, study skills, time management
• Special education & neurodivergent student support —  patient, individualized instruction
• Daytime homeschool tutoring —  flexible daytime availability

Both generalist tutors and subject-matter specialists are encouraged to apply. Certified teachers, education professionals, and college-degree holders in STEM fields are especially welcome. Teaching credentials and experience supporting students with unique learning needs are valuable but not required for every position.

• Current college enrollment or a completed college degree
• Background as a teacher, education professional, or subject-matter expert
• Ability to adapt instruction to different learning styles
• Reliability, professionalism, and consistent follow-through
• Reliable transportation for in-home tutoring assignments
• A genuine passion for education and student success

Chandler, Gilbert, Ahwatukee/South Phoenix, Tempe, Mesa, and other East Valley communities. Both in-home and online/virtual tutoring available. Tutors set their own preferred cities, travel radius, subjects, and availability.

If you've tutored for Varsity Tutors, Wyzant, or other online-only platforms, or taught at a learning center like Mathnasium, Kumon, or Sylvan, here's what sets us apart:

• A real local team, not an app.  We personally match you and stay involved — you always have a local contact, not a support ticket.
• True 1:1 tutoring, not a center-based model.  Fully personalized instruction built around each student's actual needs, not a standardized curriculum on a fixed schedule.
• Consistent, long-term student relationships  instead of rotating anonymous sessions.
• You set your own schedule and travel radius — no fixed shifts at a physical center.

Apply today to join Tutor Doctor Chandler-Gilbert-Ahwatukee — now hiring science tutors, academic coaches, and specialized-support tutors for in-home and online tutoring in Chandler, Gilbert, Ahwatukee, Phoenix, Tempe, and Mesa, AZ.
