Data Center TechnicianLocation: Kansas City, MO - Local - ONSITEDuration: Long Term ContractResponsibilities:Install and label servers, switches and appliances as requestedAdd hardware components to server as requiredMount and unmounts server in rackPlug in cables (power, network and storage)Power up server and configure ILODisconnect power, network and storage cablesInstall and remove cables as neededConnect and disconnect cables at the network and storage switchesPackage servers and ship to remote officeCheck workflow spreadsheet for decommissionsTake assignment, assign locations in PDPAdd and remove devices to DCMS (data entry), cabinets, devices, PDU?s etc.Scan WWN (worldwide numbers) to PDP (data entry)Adjust Bios settingUpdate PDP in stages as work is completed (data entry)Add SAN fiber serial numbers to the PDP (data entry)Acknowledge PDPs and verify the information is correct; Acknowledge RITs for cable requestCheck port availability on both network switches, storage switches and patch panelsMeasure distance between devices for proper cable lengths both copper and fiberCreate spreadsheet to make wire wrap labelsMake labels and attach them to the cables prior to installing themInstall cables in computer room, computer room annex and communications roomPlug cables into patch panels, bit network and storagePlug cables in on both network and storage switchesInput cable information into PDP, fiber serial numbers, patch panel port.
