Labor and Delivery RN

L&D Registered NurseAs an L&D Registered Nurse, you will assess, plan, and provide specialized nursing care to low- and high-risk patients during the labor, delivery, and recovery phases. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including OB-GYNs, certified nurse-midwives, OB hospitalists, and lactation consultants to ensure optimal outcomes.Key Responsibilities:Patient Care: Perform comprehensive maternal and fetal assessments throughout the labor process.Delivery Assistance: Assist physicians and midwives during vaginal deliveries and prepare surgical areas for Cesarean sections.Medication & Treatment: Safely administer prescribed medications and monitor the physiological responses of both mother and baby.Patient Education: Guide new families on pain management options, infant nutrition, and skin-to-skin bonding.Unit Support: Actively participate in the Transition to Practice / Nurse Residency Program if new to the specialty.Qualifications:Education: Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Required).Licensure: Valid Virginia RN License or Multi-State Compact RN License.Experience: Minimum of 1 year of acute care RN experience.
