Production Lead (Line Lead-Sandwich)
POSITION SPECIFICS
Reports To: Production Supervisor
FLSA Status: Hourly
ROLE
SUMMARY
This position is responsible for all aspects of a sandwich assembly line including: correct line set up of all required raw and packaging materials, leads all aspects of a product change during mid-shift, and responsible for the collection and accuracy of all line shift documentation. This requires a complete understanding of the assembly process. This position will also oversee approximately (25) Production Workers who will work at the different stations that make up the sandwich assembly crew. An excellent understanding of lot codes and timely accurate documentation is critical to this position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Work in a fast-pace cold temperature work environment.
- Decipher daily production schedule and then set up line correctly and efficiently.
- Supervise, coach, train and motivate line team members. Responsible for overseeing the lines productivity rates and team’s adherence to scheduled breaks.
- Recommends disciplinary action to shift supervisor regarding the actions of team members.
- Knows and understands GMP Food Safety Policies and Procedures related to working in the Production Room.
- Understands and complies too all company safety policies. Ability to coach and train team members in all proper safety procedures.
- Conducts daily safety meetings
- Understands FIFO rotation and how to decipher and determine Lot numbers.
- Responsible for the quality of the final product and make sure that it meets or exceeds company standards.
- Communicates well with fellow Production Leads and QA personnel.
- Assists Shift Supervisor and Assistant Supervisor with special assignments.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university. At least two years of relevant industry experience with sales, finance, trade or pricing background preferred. Consumer Packaged Goods experience preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS
None required
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
- 2+ years of food preparation experience
- Reliable and dependable a must
- Minimum 1 year supervisor lead experience in a production plant, preferably food manufacturing
- Ability to read, write, and accurately follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to perform basic mathematics
- Ability to interpret production schedules and implement an action plan
- Ability to problem solve, multi task, and work with minimal supervision
