Pay: $27.00 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday | Morning Start, Generally Finished by Mid-Afternoon

Smash My Trash provides innovative waste management services to commercial, industrial, manufacturing, and construction businesses. Our specialized Smash Trucks compact waste directly inside customers' existing dumpsters, helping reduce waste hauls by up to 70% and lowering waste management costs.

We are looking for a dependable, safety-conscious, and customer-focused individual to join our growing team as a Specialized Truck Operator / Smash Operator .

The Role

This is not a traditional waste hauling position. Our Smash Operators drive specialized commercial trucks equipped with hydraulic compaction equipment to service customers throughout the Peninsula and South Bay.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, operating equipment, interacting with customers, and managing an efficient daily route.

The Smash Operator will be responsible for:

• Safely driving and operating our specialized Smash Truck and hydraulic compaction equipment.
• Completing assigned customer routes safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
• Performing daily vehicle inspections, basic truck maintenance, and preventive maintenance checks.
• Climbing into the elevated Smash Cab to operate the compaction equipment at customer locations.
• Communicating with management and dispatch regarding routes, customer needs, and equipment issues.
• Recording completed services and customer information using mobile applications.
• Coordinating with management and sales to conduct demonstrations for prospective customers.
• Providing professional, friendly, and dependable customer service.

Qualifications

• Experience safely operating medium-duty commercial trucks or similar equipment.
• Class B CDL preferred but not required , subject to applicable vehicle licensing requirements.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Strong commitment to safety and responsible equipment operation.
• Ability to work independently, manage daily routes, and maintain an efficient schedule.
• Good communication skills and a customer-service-oriented attitude.
• Basic mechanical aptitude; experience with hydraulic equipment preferred.
• Comfortable using smartphones, mobile applications, and fleet management systems such as Geotab.
• Physically capable of climbing into and out of the elevated Smash Cab, performing routine truck inspections and basic maintenance, and working outdoors.
• Ability to reliably report to the truck's assigned location in Burlingame.

Work Location

The Smash Truck is based in Burlingame, California , with daily service routes generally covering the Peninsula between South San Francisco and San Jose.

Applicants must be able to reliably commute to Burlingame.
