About the Unit 24 bed unit Care for adult patients undergoing transplant for hematologic cancers, solid tumors, metabolic diseases and blood disorders Position Details 36 hours per week Rotating day/night shifts + weekends Self‑scheduling to balance individual and unit needs Up to $10,000 in relocation assistance may be offered (dependent on mileage) Summary Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards. Reporting and accountable to the Nurse Manager/Director, the Clinical Nurse is responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting. Responsibilities Education – participate in identifying and meeting learning needs of self. Attends education programs based on identified learning needs. Uses patient education materials relevant to patient population. Assesses readiness to learn of the patient/family/caregivers. Evaluation of Care – identify expected patient outcomes, seek guidance as needed in revision of plan of care, participate in discussion with interdisciplinary team to evaluate patient care, communicate relevant information to promote continuity of care. Implementation – demonstrate competence in care of patients with complex problems, perform bedside point of care testing as required, utilize organization and nursing standards, policies and procedures, organize and prioritize care, consult appropriate resources timely. Leadership – develop goals to promote professional growth or minimize limitations, achieve goals within identified time frame, participate in unit goals and performance improvement, use communication systems, promote cost‑effective care, give feedback to co‑workers, knowledge of public policy and regulatory guidelines, promote safe environment. Patient Assessment – recognize data from complex situations to determine priorities, synthesize assessment data, assess discharge needs, develop relationships with families. Planning – collaborate with patient/family to prepare or update plan of care, use multidisciplinary resources, use full range of communication, address cultural and ethnic issues, prioritize tasks. Research – read journals, bring ideas and questions to staff. Education Requirements Graduation from a school of professional nursing. If hired after January 6, 2014, must be enrolled within four years of employment and obtain a Bachelor’s degree with a major in Nursing or a Master’s degree with a major in Nursing within seven years of employment date. Licensure/Certification Requirements Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina. Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
