Requirements Current CNA certification in good standing on the Iowa Direct Care Worker Registry. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current automobile insurance. Ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screen. At least one year of CNA experience preferred. Experience in home care, a nursing home, a hospital, or assisted living is a plus. Strong communication skills and a compassionate, professional bedside manner. Ability to understand and follow written and verbal care plan instructions. Ability to confidently read, write, and understand spoken English to communicate effectively and safely provide client care. Dependable, punctual, and accountable, with a commitment to following through on responsibilities. A positive, empathetic attitude and a genuine passion for helping others. Willingness to work as part of a team, act with honesty and integrity, and consistently strive to provide exceptional care. What You'll Do As a CNA with BrightStar Care of Iowa City, you will help clients maintain their comfort, dignity, and independence while providing compassionate, personalized care. Responsibilities may include: Assisting clients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Helping with mobility, transfers, positioning, and ambulation as appropriate. Providing companionship, emotional support, and meaningful interaction. Assisting with meals and hydration, as directed by the client's care plan. Observing and reporting changes in a client's condition or behavior. Following individualized care plans and established care procedures. Maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable environment. Communicating professionally with clients, families, and the care team. Respecting each client's privacy, preferences, dignity, and independence. Demonstrating our GROWS values through dependable, compassionate, and respectful care.
