Lead Project Technician

Job Description Insight Global is seeking a Lead Commercial HVAC Installer in the Charlotte area to lead the installation and commissioning of large‑scale commercial and industrial HVAC systems. This role will focus on the setup of new equipment, system integration, and ensuring all installations meet design specifications and performance standards. The technician will be responsible for installing a variety of HVAC units (2–50 tons), including rooftop units, split systems, and specialty equipment. This includes reading blueprints and mechanical layouts, setting and connecting equipment, running piping and ductwork transitions, and completing system startups. You will partner with project teams, foremen, and subcontractors to ensure installations are completed on schedule and aligned with project requirements. This role also requires maintaining strict adherence to safety standards and building codes throughout all phases of installation. Additional responsibilities include documenting installation progress, verifying system functionality during startup, and supporting basic post‑install adjustments to ensure optimal system performance. Compensation $20/hr to $40/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Skills and Requirements Required Skills and Experience 5+ years of hands‑on experience installing commercial/industrial HVAC systems, specifically large‑tonnage units EPA Certification (CFC) Experience installing commercial and industrial AC units ranging from 2 to 50 tons Familiarity with major HVAC brands such as York, Aaon, Trane, Carrier, and Daikin Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and mechanical drawings Experience with equipment setting, piping, and system startup/commissioning Strong attention to detail to ensure installations meet specs and code requirements Solid communication skills to coordinate with project teams, contractors, and clients Willingness to work overtime as needed to meet project deadlines Nice to Have Skills and Experience Master’s or Journeyman’s License Prior experience leading installation crews or acting as a lead installer Experience with new construction or large‑scale retrofit projects #J-18808-Ljbffr Insight Global
