Job Summary:

The Mechanical Designer - Piping SR 3 is a senior-level role requiring over 10 years of experience in mechanical piping system design. The position involves creating 3D piping and equipment designs for retrofit, environmental, and new generation industrial projects. The role demands collaboration with engineers and multidisciplinary designers to develop safe, efficient, and code-compliant piping solutions primarily for power generation or similar heavy industrial facilities. Responsibilities:

Provide 3D piping and equipment designs for retrofit and new generation projects.
Produce 2D orthographic and isometric drawings, P&IDs, and pipe support designs.
Create and review 3D models ensuring design accuracy and compliance with standards.
Collaborate with engineers and designers across disciplines to ensure effective designs.
Apply applicable codes and standards in design work.
Gather field data to support design deliverables.
Prepare material take-offs and assist in sizing and selection of piping components.
Lead multi-discipline technical teams on projects.
Review and develop general arrangement drawings.

Required Skills & Certifications:

Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical piping system design.
Intermediate to advanced experience with mechanical piping systems in power generation or heavy industrial facilities.
Proficient in 3D modeling tools for piping system layout and design.
Experience producing 2D orthographic, isometric drawings, and P&IDs.
Knowledge of applicable engineering codes and standards.
Ability to lead technical teams and manage multi-discipline coordination.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

Experience with Autodesk Plant 3D design software.
Familiarity with pipe support design and 3D equipment modeling.
Experience in retrofit and environmental project design.

Special Considerations:

Work may require coordination with multiple disciplines and project teams.
Designs must comply with strict safety and industry standards.

Scheduling:

Standard work schedule with potential project-driven deadlines.
May require flexibility to meet project milestones and team collaboration needs.
