Senior Data Engineer

Location Greenwood Village, CO (4 days onsite, 1 day remote) Duration Contract through end of year (potential extension) Overview We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead the redesign and modernization of a mission-critical data pipeline supporting high-visibility business initiatives. This role will focus on re-architecting legacy ETL processes into scalable, efficient, and reliable data workflows. The data produced by this team is consumed by executive leadership and plays a key role in tracking large-scale infrastructure and product initiatives. This is an opportunity to take ownership of a full ETL rebuild, working in a highly impactful environment where accuracy, reliability, and performance are critical. What You’ll Do Lead the end-to-end re-architecture of legacy ETL pipelines Build and optimize data pipelines using Python as the primary language Redesign data flows to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance Develop modular, fault-tolerant architectures that eliminate single points of failure Ensure data quality and accuracy for executive-level reporting Partner with cross-functional teams to support reporting and analytics needs Work in a tool-agnostic environment, incorporating SQL and other technologies as needed What We’re Looking For 7–10+ years of experience in data engineering within enterprise environments Strong expertise in Python for building scalable data pipelines Proven experience rebuilding or modernizing legacy ETL processes Deep understanding of data architecture principles (scalability, modularity, reliability) Experience working with large datasets and complex data workflows Strong SQL skills, including query optimization and data transformation Experience designing systems where data accuracy and reliability are critical Ability to lead technical direction and work cross-functionally Nice to Have Experience working in tool-agnostic environments Familiarity with platforms such as Alteryx or similar tools Background supporting high-visibility or executive-level reporting systems EEO Statement Brooksource is an equal opportunity employer that does not discriminate on the basis of actual or perceived race, color, creed, religion, national origin, ancestry, citizenship status, age, sex or gender (including pregnancy, childbirth, lactation and related medical conditions), gender identity or gender expression, sexual orientation, marital status, military service and veteran status, physical or mental disability, protected medical condition as defined by applicable state or local law, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state, or local laws and ordinances.
