divh2Occupational Therapist Position/h2pProvides full-time, quality outpatient and inpatient occupational therapy care. May include some work at our local Long Term Care facility. Treats all patient age ranges and diagnoses within the State of Alaskas occupational therapy scope of practice. Includes home visits, village travel, and frequent collaboration with medical providers and requires strong didactic skills due to Alaskas Direct Access privilege for occupational therapy. Incorporates evidenced-based medicine into patient plans of care. Exemplifies professional conduct, patient care ethics and respect for cultural diversity when rendering patient care. Modifies patient care plans appropriately, using age-specific and patient-specific considerations. Supports the Yukon Kuskokwim Health Corporations mission statementWorking Together to Achieve Excellent Health./ppPosition Qualifications:/pulliMinimum Education: Bachelors degree from an accredited program in Occupational Therapy/liliMinimum Experience: No minimum clinical experience required but is preferred./liliLicensing/Certification: Must be licensed in good standing in Alaska as an OT or have a good-standing license of Occupational Therapy in another state and awaiting licensure in Alaska. Must also hold a current certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). Current BLS./liliEquipment/Tools:/liulliOffice equipment (i.e. computer, telephone, fax machine, copy machine)/liliHospital based: Standard Occupational Therapy Department environment includes hi-lo table, therapeutic exercise equipment, ultrasound and electric stimulation modalities, ADL training room (includes bathroom and kitchen)./liliVillage-based: Usually a treatment table is provided. Therapist brings out what is needed for patient care (theraband, exercise programs, etc.)./li/ulliSpecialized Knowledge and Skills:/liulliAbility to read, analyze, and interpret occupational therapy periodicals and medical literature./liliAbility to compose patient care documentation and medical correspondence./liliAbility to communicate effectively with medical staff, peers and administrative personnel./liliAbility to communicate effectively with members of a different culture who may or may not speak English./li/ulliSupervisory Responsibilities: Periodic self-assessment/li/ulpPlease make note of the following information: Private Housing is not provided.
