Patient Access Scheduler 1, BHMG Cardiology Scheduling, FT 8:30A-5P

Description The incumbent will be responsible for scheduling patient appointments (diagnostic, surgical, therapy, physician office visits, and other procedures/treatments). The role involves obtaining and verifying necessary demographic and insurance information, registering patients, and entering data into the scheduling system. This position requires working in a call center type environment and meeting individual quality metrics. The incumbent will practice the Baptist Health philosophy of service excellence by providing professional, compassionate, and friendly service to patients of all ages, families, employees, physicians, and community members. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; certification, GED, training, or relevant experience required. Complete and pass the Patient Access training course. Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-pace environment. Basic mathematical calculations skills. Detail oriented, organized, team player, compassionate, excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills. Basic knowledge of medical and insurance terminology (desired). Experience with computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, EMR applications). Accurate typing skills. Knowledge of regulatory guidelines, including HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, Medicare coverage structure, and medical necessity compliance guidelines. Preferred bilingual in English and Spanish or Creole.
