This is a keyholder-style role responsible for sales support, customer service, cash handling, and staff guidance in the absence of management.This position is ideal for candidates with retail leadership experience who are dependable, customer-focused, and mission-driven.Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Store OperationsSupport management with daily sales, production, and donation goalsAssist with store opening and closing proceduresComplete banking duties, including cash handling, deposits, and reconciliationMaintain proper product rotation and inventory flowEnsure shelves, racks, and displays remain stocked, organized, and appealingCustomer Service & Store PresentationDeliver friendly, respectful, and professional customer serviceResolve customer concerns calmly and courteouslyMaintain cleanliness, safety, and visual standards of the storeAssist with signage, displays, and merchandising standardsIdentify opportunities to improve workflow and store presentationLeadership & Team SupportProvide direction and support to employees when management is not presentEnforce company policies and procedures consistentlyCommunicate staffing needs and operational updates to the Store ManagerAssist team members with register issues and basic troubleshootingReport performance or behavioral concerns as neededQualificationsEducation & ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED requiredPrior retail experience required (thrift or resale experience preferred)Keyholder, lead, or supervisory experience preferredSkills & AbilitiesStrong customer service and communication skillsCash handling and register experienceBasic computer skills (POS systems, Microsoft Office, payroll systems)Ability to multitask in a fast-paced retail environmentReliable, punctual, and team-orientedAdditional RequirementsValid Driver's License and reliable transportation (required for bank runs)Ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) checkPhysical RequirementsStand and walk for extended periodsLift up to 25 lbs regularlyBend, reach, and use hands repetitivelyAdequate vision and focus for retail workWork EnvironmentRetail setting with moderate noiseStanding and walking for most of the shiftOccasional dust and temperature changesWhat We OfferMeaningful work supporting your local communityMission-driven and supportive team environmentOn-the-job training and growth opportunitiesCompetitive benefits package for eligible employeesEqual Opportunity EmployerThe Salvation Army is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
