Senior Manager Graduate Medical Education

Senior Manager, GME Department: Medical Education Administration – Hospital (Administrative Services) Location: Phoenix, Arizona Work Shift: Day. Schedule: On‑Site, 40 hours per week, primarily Monday‑Friday with occasional evenings and weekends. Senior Manager, GME: Lead initiatives that support residency and fellowship programs, collaborate with physician and executive leaders, and help shape the future of medical education through exceptional programs. POSITION SUMMARY Provide strategic support and leadership in planning, developing, and implementing programs to advance the mission and goals of Graduate Medical Education (GME). Assist in evaluating current and proposed educational systems and procedures. Manage the daily activities of the Associate Manager, Residency Administrator team. Recommend Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and GME changes when necessary and aid in implementing new processes. Act as a catalyst between GME and its educational programs and trainees to ensure continuity and quality of service and care. CORE FUNCTIONS Forecast, develop, and implement ACGME and GME policies and procedures in education, trainee management, and budgetary goals and objectives. Provide exceptional leadership and promote teamwork and collaboration. Create an environment that supports high employee and physician engagement, strategically selecting, onboarding, developing, rewarding, retaining, and providing performance feedback to team members. Set team and role expectations through training, provide direction, and lead team performance. Serve as a knowledge resource related to department processes, technical skills, ACGME accreditation, Electronic Residency Application Services (ERAS), National Resident Matching Program (NRMP), and new innovations. Review, prepare, and analyze reports and provide recommendations regarding operations at institutional and program levels. Provide concise and accurate information that aids decision‑making. Work independently and collaboratively on generation, distribution, and analysis of survey data at institutional and program levels. Contribute to strong financial performance. Ensure proper controls and practices are followed and documented to secure the financial viability of the department. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in business, human relations, or related field, or equivalent experience. Understanding of graduate medical education typically achieved through six years of experience in a healthcare‑related field, including three years of leadership experience. Must possess C‑TAGME certification or acquire it within two years. Strong research and organizational abilities. Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to guide and lead others. Demonstrated negotiation and persuasion skills. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Master’s degree preferred. Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
