Survey Technician-Traveling

The selected Survey/CAD Technician will be a key addition to the team for heavy civil and heavy industrial projects nationwide. This position does require a willingness to travel, with paid flights home on an established cadence. The initial 2 year assignment will be on a project site in Lincoln, Nebraska followed by alignment with the Woodlands, TX office on regional projects. Key Responsibilities

• Supporting heavy civil and heavy industrial construction operations through a combination of construction surveying, field layout, CAD/modeling, quantity takeoff, and machine control data management.
• This position is not required to be a licensed Professional Land Surveyor. Rather, the role is focused on translating contract drawings, design coordinates, CAD files, and 3D models into accurate field staking, layout, grade control surfaces, equipment control files, and construction progress quantities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with construction survey, layout, CAD/modeling, and machine control
• HS Diploma or GED
• FAA drone certification/license
• Prior experience with some of the following project types: heavy civil, heavy industrial, power, energy, and infrastructure
• Prior experience with GPS based survey equipment AND optical/total station equipment
• Prior experience with Trimble Earthworks
• Proficiency with Civil 3D, AGTEK, Bluebeam, and Trimble survey/modeling workflows
• Ability to calculate earthwork, grading, paving, utility, and concrete-related quantity takeoffs
• Strong math and problem-solving skills
• Professional Licensing is a PLUS
