Applied Music Instructor

The Applied Music Instructor is a part-time faculty member responsible for providing one-on-one instrumental or vocal instruction. This position involves teaching private lessons to undergraduate students, guiding them in developing technical skills, musicality, and performance techniques across a variety of genres and styles. Applied Music Instructors are expected to contribute to the overall academic and artistic mission of the Department of Music, offering expert guidance in students’ musical development, and preparation for juries, performances, recitals, auditions, and professional opportunities.
