This county-operated program provides community-based, step-down psychiatric services for adults with serious mental illness (SMI) in Monterey County, California. The program serves individuals transitioning out of acute psychiatric hospitalization, with the primary objective of stabilizing patients and reducing the risk of re-hospitalization. Services are delivered through the Adult System of Care team utilizing a hybrid care model.

Salinas, California offers a range of cultural and recreational activities suited to diverse interests. The city is associated with a distinct literary heritage, reflected in dedicated museum and historic house attractions, as well as boutiques and dining options concentrated in the downtown area. Outdoor and sightseeing opportunities, including tours to nearby coastal areas such as Point Lobos, provide additional options for clinicians on assignment.

Clinicians in this role will provide part-time outpatient psychiatric services for adult patients within a county-operated Adult System of Care program, working approximately 20 hours per week across 2-3 days during day shifts in a hybrid setting, with onsite presence preferred. Clinical responsibilities include conducting initial psychiatric evaluations of 60 minutes and medication management visits of 30 minutes for adults with serious mental illness (SMI) who are transitioning out of acute psychiatric hospitalization. The primary clinical goal is to stabilize patients and support prevention of re-hospitalization within a community-based, step-down care framework. The EMR system utilized for this assignment is AVATAR. No call requirements are associated with this position.
