Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments for oncology patients and their families
• Provide individual, family, and supportive counseling services
• Assist patients in coping with cancer diagnoses, treatment plans, and survivorship challenges
• Coordinate discharge planning and connect patients with community resources and support services
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, case managers, and other members of the healthcare team
• Provide crisis intervention and emotional support during acute and complex situations
• Document patient interactions and care plans in accordance with facility policies
• Advocate for patient needs and promote continuity of care

Requirements

• Master's degree in social work (MSW)
• Active Georgia Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) License
• Minimum 2 years of recent Clinical Social Work experience
• Minimum 1 year of Oncology Social Work experience
• Recent hospital-based social work experience required
• AHA BLS Certification required

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Psych-Oncology or Cancer Services
• Knowledge of oncology treatment pathways and supportive care resources
• Strong counseling, crisis intervention, and case management skills
• Experience working within multidisciplinary healthcare teams

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospital-based social work and experience supporting oncology patients and their families through the emotional, psychological, and social challenges associated with cancer diagnosis and treatment.
