Clinical Nurse III: C2 (Colorectal Surgery & Urology), 36 hrs/week, Days

The Colorectal Surgery and Urology unit is a med‑surg unit of 22 beds, caring for patients with surgical abdominal, surgical urologic, and general medical/surgical conditions. New graduates are welcome to apply. As a Registered Professional Nurse, you assess, coordinate, plan, direct, implement and manage the care of assigned patients from admission through discharge. You ensure competent, compassionate care for patients, referring facilities, hospital staff, and patients across inpatient, ambulatory and community settings. Responsibilities Manage patient transitions within the acute care stay and support the overall progress toward discharge. Implements physician orders, administers medications, starts IVs, performs treatments, procedures and special tests, and documents treatment as required by company policy and local/state/federal rules and regulations. Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients’ conditions. Assesses and evaluates patient needs and responses to care rendered. Applies sound nursing judgment in patient‑care management decisions. Administers over‑the‑counter and prescription medications as ordered. Collaborates with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients. Directs and guides ancillary personnel and maintains standards of professional nursing. Minimum Qualifications Graduate of a professional academic nursing program that confers a Diploma, Associate Degree or Baccalaureate Degree. Must hold a current NYS Registered Nurse license. Obtains and maintains certification in BLS/ACLS/PALS/TNCC. Ability to improve job performance through continuing education. Albany Medical is an equal opportunity employer.
