Full Health Educator Job Description Honor Community Health is a 501c3 Federally Qualified Health Center co-located within 20 locations. Our mission is to provide for the health and wellness needs of the underserved of Oakland County through the provision of comprehensive, integrated primary, behavioral health, and dental care. Position Description Reporting to the Program Manager, Child and Adolescent Servies, the full time, non-exempt Health Educator works to implement health education, prevention, promotion and harm reduction efforts with Honor Community Health’s patients, particularly with children and adolescents served by Honor’s school-based health centers, and students inside area schools. The Health Educator is responsible for building relationships with students, principals, teachers, parents and other school personnel in order to identify/develop and implement health education and prevention programming. Physical office will be located at the Pontiac High School Child and Adolescent Health Center. What are we looking for? Bachelor's degree in public health, Health Education, Social Work, Health Sciences or related field. Previous experience with working in education, healthcare, community-based or human service settings. Computer skills in Microsoft Office. Ability to work with a variety of patient populations. Experience collecting program data, evaluating activities, and completing grant-related documentation preferred. Ability to manage programming across multiple assigned locations while meeting competing deadlines. Ability to communicate sensitive health topics in an age-appropriate, nonjudgmental, and professional manner.
