Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Job Description

Job Summary:

Registered Nurse for Rapid Admit Unit/ER Holding providing MS level of care within an emergency setting. Monitors patient status, supports safe transitions of care, and delivers timely nursing interventions for a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor vital signs, symptoms, and clinical changes for patients in the ER Holding/Rapid Admit setting.
  
• Administer medications and treatments per provider orders while maintaining accurate documentation.
  
• Coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team to support continuity during rapid admissions and transfers.
  
• Implement infection prevention practices and maintain readiness of equipment and supplies.
  
• Perform patient triage support and escalation of concerns to the appropriate clinical leadership.
  
• Complete required labs and onboarding steps within standard compliance timeframes, as applicable.
  Qualifications:
  
• Hold an active Registered Nurse license and meet applicable licensure requirements (including NM/Compact as accepted, prior to start).
  
• Possess 1-2+ years of recent acute care or emergency/holding unit experience (higher preference for 2+ years).
  
• Demonstrate strong clinical assessment, prioritization, and critical thinking in an ER environment.
  
• Maintain current BLS certification (and ACLS if required by unit standards).
  
• Exhibit proficiency with electronic documentation and concise charting under time-sensitive conditions.
  
• Support safe staffing practices by maintaining an ability to work with typical emergency ratios (e.g., 1:4).
