Registered Nurse - Oncology

Job Description

Job Summary:

Provide specialized nursing care to oncology patients in a fast-paced hospital setting, ensuring safe and effective treatment while maintaining excellent patient relationships.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive oncology nursing care, including medication administration, IV therapies, and procedural support.
• Monitor and assess patient condition, documenting changes and communicating with interdisciplinary teams.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, side effects, and post-care instructions.
• Adhere to hospital policies, safety protocols, and compliance standards to ensure patient safety.
• Assist with procedures such as pelvic exams, echo, and thoracentesis, as needed.
• Collaborate effectively with team members to coordinate care and improve patient outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active RN license in North Carolina or relevant state.
• Have a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in oncology or medical-surgical units.
• Demonstrate strong clinical skills pertinent to oncology care.
• Possess Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Chemo Certification preferred.
• Exhibit excellent communication, teamwork, and willingness to learn.
• Be able to work 6 evening shifts per week, including occasional weekends and on-call rotations.
