Unit Details Procedures CNAs perform a variety of essential procedures, including:

• Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Bathing (bed bath, partial bath, shower). Grooming (hair care, nail care, shaving). Oral and Denture Care. Dressing and Undressing. Toileting and providing perineal care. Serving meals and assisting with feeding, ensuring dietary requirements are met.
• Monitoring and Documentation: Measuring vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure). Measuring height and weight. Monitoring intake and output of food and liquids. Observing and reporting changes in the patient's physical condition, behavior, or complaints to the nurse. Maintaining accurate patient records and documenting care activities.
• Mobility and Safety: Turning and repositioning bedridden patients to prevent bedsores. Assisting with ambulation using gait belts, walkers, or canes. Transferring patients between beds, wheelchairs, and stretchers. Practicing infection control protocols, including hand hygiene and proper use of personal protective equipment.

Unit Description provides essential daily care and support to patients, working under the direct supervision of nurses in hospitals, nursing homes, and home care settings. Key duties include assisting with hygiene (bathing, dressing, toileting), feeding, measuring vital signs, monitoring patient conditions, and ensuring a safe, clean environment.
