Job Opportunity

Position Overview

This is a 13-week travel assignment starting on September 28. The position requires a commitment to work variable day and night shifts with a schedule of 3x12 hours. The candidate must be willing to float to various locations as needed.

Shift Details

• Night Shift: 3 consecutive 12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00)
• Day Shift: 3 consecutive 12-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:00)

Holiday Requirements

The candidate must work 2 out of the following 3 holidays, including holiday eves:

• Christmas
• Thanksgiving
• New Year's (off)

Floating Requirements

Assigned to the NICU, candidates will be required to float to the following locations:

• Rady Main Campus
• Scripps Encinitas
• Rancho Springs
• Palomar
• Scripps Mercy

Note that mid-shift floating may be required, although it is not done regularly.

Qualifications

• Current California RN License
• BLS and NRP Certifications Required
• A minimum of 3 years of NICU Level 3 or higher experience
• Epic charting system experience
• Willingness to float within the NICU and to other sister facilities as required
• Available to work weekends with full scheduling flexibility
• First-time travelers accepted with strong NICU experience

Unit Highlights

The unit operates under Magnet designation and serves as a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center. The NICU accommodates 20 staffed beds and services neonate patients, with an average daily census of 19.

Special Skills Required

Candidate should be proficient in:

• Administration of blood and blood products
• High-frequency ventilation and nitric oxide therapy
• Central line management
• Neonatal resuscitation and stabilization
• Developmental care principles
• Phototherapy and thermoregulation
