Consulting Application Developer Office of Information Technology – Enterprise Application Services (OIT – EAS) at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. Overview Provides development and production support for the Business Intelligence infrastructure, including data warehouses, data marts, data models, data services, views, and reports. Primarily focused on the Clinical Research environment, working in a HIPAA compliant setting. Posting Summary Responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining ETL processes, integrating internal and external data sources, and supporting clinical research data initiatives. Responsibilities Analyzes, plans, designs, develops, implements, and maintains centralized and departmental standardized ETL and report processes. Develops processes to assist in clinical research efforts and ingest data from multiple university data sources. Adapts and leads standard methodologies for ETL development. Collaborates with research leads and technical teams to design and develop ETL workflows for research and reporting. Acts as an Honest Broker within the Clinical & Research environment to protect confidential data while sharing partial data sets. Performs file management of sensitive data into and out of the Clinical Research Data Warehouse (CRDW) with approval of the Data Governance Committee. Maintains status of data inventory and file transfers. Ensures adherence to Rutgers compliance standards (RBHS Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct, and Conflict of Interest Policy). Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience. Seven (7) years in an analytical and programming environment with emphasis on healthcare data for research, reporting, and analytics. Current experience using ETL tools such as Informatica, ODI, Data Quality, and native PL/SQL. Proficient in SQL. Experience with data modeling in a data warehouse environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases. Experience with Perl, Shell scripting, R, or SAS. Proven experience with the EPIC data model or related healthcare data. EPIC Caboodle Developer certifications. Customer‑service mindset with professional courtesy and communication. Large‑data technology experience and data mapping analysis. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and technical documentation skills. Knowledge of reporting tools, decision‑support systems, data design, and ETL processing. Familiarity with data warehouse concepts and star schema. Salary Grade 37S. Minimum salary $121,608.00; Mid‑range $147,221.00; Maximum $175,737.00. Final offer may vary based on qualifications and available funding. Benefits Medical, prescription drug, and dental coverage.
